On January 20/21st we will have a monumental event…Pluto, known as The God of Death Rebirth and Transformation, will move into Aquarius. He has been in Capricorn since 2008. More on that in a sec. Ok, what we look at here is the energy, the archetype of a planet and sign. This is how they interact together. It is the planet’s archetype through the lens of the sign. Pluto is the outermost planet and therefore has a huge impact on the energy of society, the collective consciousness, if you will. However, it has a mighty impact on our individual lives as well.

Pluto being the God of the Underworld, The God of Death Rebirth and Transformation, what we see here is the death of the old. The death of the things that aren’t working. If you know tarot, you know the Death~13~ card is Scorpios card. Pluto card (Pluto is associated with Scorpio). Pluto moves very slow. It will stay in a sign approximately 13-30 something years. So the way Pluto energy works is a little slower. It starts with a whisper. A small bubbling. I think of a Volcano… on the outside it looks dormant, but on the inside something is building, bubbling, getting hot. Why? Because Pluto rules the Underworld. The shadow. Our unconscious. Negative side of Pluto is a refusal to take a look at that shadow. Our unconscious realm. In society and ourselves. It is the undersoul of society and ourselves. We know things aren’t working (society and ourselves) and yet we refuse to look at it, talk about it, bring it up from the depths of that volcano. A way we see the shadow side play out is one of self negation. We negate ourselves, we give our authority and power away to Teachers, Gurus, Religious Folk, Entertainers, Influencers, Medical Professionals. We do not make ourselves the inner authority of our own lives. Why? We dont trust ourselves… why? Because we refuse to go into the shadow and see all parts of us, we refuse to look at the parts we don’t want to see, to deal with, to address. Therefore, we think we are not enough. Never enough. That there is something wrong with us. And we give our power away. However, Pluto being an evolutionary planet doesn’t stand for that for long. He says, “well if you aren’t going to do this, Ill force the issue.” Pluto wants society and individuals to evolve. He is not about stagnation. Pluto’s main purpose is to remove the things (people, places, things, ideas…) that no longer serve. They are not providing evolution, only stagnation. Pluto says “stop running, turn around and face this”….”this” being anything that no longer serves. For example, Pluto entered Capricorn 2008. Capricorn is government, banking systems, top down authority to name a few. We all know what happened in 2008, market crash. Look at society and what has been brought to our attention since 2008…. Pluto brought so much in the spotlight, things that appeared dormant, and yet were curdling in the undersoul of society. Toxic and needing to be aired. Acknowledged. Called out by name. Addressed. Again, if we or society does not address this consciously, then a “crisis” happens to force the issue. Pluto says IT’S TIME. How we address these issues is still up to us, as there is always free will. 

Pluto moving into Aquarius is the herald to a New Age. Many say this event really highlights The Age of Aquarius. This is a different flavor all together than Pluto in Capricorn. Again, we will see the shadow side and the light side play out. You already know the archetypal energy of Pluto…now you need to understand Aquarius. Aquarius is The Humanitarian. It is the “Government For the People, By the People” Aquarius is the Rebel, the Future Thinker. It is both Science and Magic. Aquarius is known as The Water Bearer. This is important, if you see this image, it is a person with an overflowing cup being poured from the sky onto Earth, as Uranus is associated with Aquarius known as The Sky God. Therefore, this is the energy of the innovator, the one that gets information from the far reaches of the Galaxy (new ideas, new inventions, new ways of being and thinking) and brings it here to Earth. Unfortunately, mainstream society is not always ready for the way Aquarius approaches things since it is always future oriented, however given time, it becomes clear, this is the way. Why? Aquarius is equality, all voices heard and everyone has a seat at the table, there is no one elevated at the top because here we sit in a circle. It is community and tribe and belonging. Aquarius is one of the signs (along with Caprirocn) that is here for Mastery. Therefore there are many lessons that are needed in order to reach this “for the people, by the people” mentality. To actually live it, be it, for society and individuals to see the beauty and truth in this. 

Aquarius is also associated with AI, Science and Technology and as we leave the Industrial Age (The Age of Earth) we move to The Age of Technology (The Age of Air) also called The Age of Information. Like it or not, AI will be a huge part of our lives. And here we see how the shadow side can play out and the light side… AI can be a beautiful way to restore balance and harmony with our Earth if used properly, it can also destroy us when used improperly. Feel free to look this up for more info as it is too much for me to go into, however I think you all can use your imaginations for both sides. I like to think of it this way, yes AI Artificial Intelligence AND AI Alien Intelligence. (Yes, I know that we no longer use the word alien, extraterrestrials or higher consciousness beings is better, but for the sake of AI, I love that it can imply this as well). AI when seen through the “Alien” lens is highly supported with Pluto in Aquarius as many of us astrologers see this as us being exposed to the Galactic Community/Galactic Citizenship given what Aquarius stands for and Uranus. Pluto will be in Aquarius for approximately twenty years, and as I stated before, it is a slow moving planet. This will not happen overnight, but it will happen. Therefore, more and more exposure and shedding the light on ET’s, their presence here and our interaction with them. Again shadow and light side, how will society take this? There are many stories going on about this, again, you can look it up. One is that governments around the world will make it that they are here to take over and create a takeover/hostile environment… another is that they are here in peace and harmony and want to welcome us into the Galactic Community but are waiting for the right time so as not to scare people. 

Pluto in Aquarius~ If Pluto exposes things that no longer serves, it will do His job to all things Aquarian. The shadow side to Aquarius to name a few, the first being conformity. As an Aquarian, I can attest this is real. Aquarius energy is unique, innovative, and can be down right weird, lol any Aquarius not living their full uniqueness, is afraid to shine and be who they really are, falls prey to conformity. Anyone know an Aquarian or someone with a lot of Aquarius in their chart? When not living authentically, these people sometimes are described as “cold, unemotional, detached, callous, rigid.” Very logical, practical, and analytical. They live more from their head than their heart. If our society and/or an individual has more of these tendencies, Pluto will bring this to the surface. If our society (or yourself) is not living in a heartfelt, authentic, uniquely inspiring way, Pluto will bring this to the surface. 

Again, Aquarius is the Humanitarian. Looking in the past when Pluto entered Aquarius you will see the French and American Revolutions and the Irish Uprising to name a few. A fight against Power over the people. Did I mention Pluto represents Power and Authority? This will be in review as it was in Capricorn, but the answer is not Top Down Authority as in Capricorn, but For the People, By the People ALL PEOPLE. I keep coming back to this because this will be a major theme. Uranus and Aquarius stand for Freedom. And this is what the people will demand. All restrictions and control over us come into the spotlight. Is it needed? Is it necessary? Is it being used fairly? We cant have total freedom as that would lead to anarchy, and we cant have total control…. There has to be a balance and this will be a biggie in the coming years. 

I am not using the word revolution as we already know what that implies. Pluto is known in Evolutionary Astrology as the key planet to our evolution. Therefore, that is what I see happening. This is not a revolution, it is an evolution. There is an evolution taking place. We know this as we are living it. The time for change is layered in many aspects and energies, however I will not get into that because the focus in on Pluto and Aquarius, but this is just one layer, one factor pointing to the upgrade to humanity and our planet. 

Pluto is a rough ride, there is no going around it. He is not named The God of Death Rebirth and Transformation for nothing. Death comes first, and as a society, we don’t like change. There are many in our society that do not want to give up their power over people, that top down control. Pluto comes along and shines a flashlight for society but also in our own lives. Pluto shines a flashlight on the things that no longer serve you. He says, release this. Let it go. It is doing more harm than good, even if it is comfortable because it is known or it is the way we have always done things (society loves this mentality). However, Uranus and Aquarius says there is a new way, a better way, a way from the future that brings in freshness, and uniqueness, and aliveness, and innovation. This is an upgrade. A time of being uniquely you, shining your light, merging the head and the heart. Aquarius dances to the beat of their own drum, and as we move through this progression, that is what you are being asked to do…what makes you want to dance? To sing? To play along with the music of your Soul? Your highest timeline future self is calling you! Allow the things that do not serve you to be released, allow the rebirth and transformation to happen. This is the legendary Phoenix Rising from the Ashes. This Is the Great Liberation of Pluto.
